Organic Baby Skincare: Baby Massage - When, How and Why

There are many benefits of baby massage for both you and your Cherub. It can be an excellent bonding experience as well as soothing and calming for your baby.

Your calming touch will let your baby feel nurtured and loved and may even help your Cherub sleep.

Baby massage is perfect after a warm bath or before bedtime.

Lay your Cherub on their back (on top of a soft blanket, sheep’s wool rug or soft towel), warm some Cherub Rubs Baby Calm Oil in the palm of your hands, let your baby know you are going to start the massage and slowly and gently, start stroking your Cherub’s head, arms and hands. Gently rub your baby’s tummy in a clockwise, circular motion, avoiding the belly button if the cord is still attached (be sure not to apply too much pressure). Work your way down to their legs and feet.

If both you and your Cherub are enjoying it, continue massaging or roll them onto their tummy and gently massage their back.

You can talk to your baby throughout the massage, sing lullabies or play some soft music.

Stop the massage if your baby is restless or unsettled. Do not be disheartened if your baby does not enjoy a massage the first few times, it may take some practice to find what your Cherub does and does not enjoy.
